Ducharme Conservation Easement

About This Property

The Ducharme Conservation Easement is a 34 acre property located in Wakefield, NH. This privately owned property falls entirely within the Great East Lake watershed and is host to 1000 ft of frontage along both sides of Upper Copp Brook (i.e. Scribner River). Upper Copp Brook feeds directly into Great East Lake, which is one of the five lakes that create the headwaters for the Salmon Falls River. The property is a mixture of forested wetlands, small clearings and upland forest. Conservation of undeveloped land within lake watersheds is key to minimizing polluted storm water runoff into the lake itself. Protection of the Ducharme Conservation Easement will help to reduce future runoff into Great East Lake and will act as a stepping stone to connect this land to the larger greenway of already conserved lands in Wakefield, NH and Acton, ME.
