Moose Mountains Regional Greenways holds an annual snowshoe race fundraiser called the Moose Mountains RunAround. Our 5th Annual snowshoe race is scheduled for Saturday, January 26, 2019 with a 9:00 AM start. The 4-mile race will take place at the Abenaki Ski Area in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course combines moderate elevation change, open fields, ski trails and single track. There is approximately 500’ elevation change on this loop course.
DIRECTIONS: The race starts and ends at Abenaki Ski Area, 390 Pine Hill Rd, Wolfeboro, NH 03894 (Detailed Directions). Adequate parking is available. Site is approximately three miles from the center of Wolfeboro on Route 109A.
SNOWSHOES: Snowshoes must adhere to USSSA minimum size specifications of 120 square inches. Rental Dion snowshoes will be available at a cost of $5.00 per pair. KIDS SNOWSHOE SHUFFLE: Kids’ non-competitive snow activity after race is complete, starting around 10:00 am. $5.00 suggested donation.
AWARDS: Awards will be presented to top finishers in each age group, as well as to overall winners.
AMENITIES: Heated ski lodge with bathrooms and post-race food will be available to all entrants.
ENTRY: $20.00 prior to January 26 (no refunds if race must be cancelled). $25 day of the race. Registration is from 7:30 – 8:45 am. Proceeds benefit Moose Mountains Regional Greenways. All payments are non-refundable. MMRG is a regional land trust serving Brookfield, Farmington, Middleton, Milton, New Durham, Wakefield, and Wolfeboro and is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization.
