Trail and Kiosk Updates at Charles C. Norman Munroe Preserve
We want to let visitors know that we are aware the kiosk at the Charles C. Norman Munroe Preserve has fallen down, and that the River Trail is in need of attention. Our team is already working on these repairs, and we appreciate your patience as we complete this work to keep the preserve safe and enjoyable for all.
We truly rely on visitors to help us care for these special places. If you notice damage or other issues on our trails and lands, please let us know. If you see something, say something!
About Charles C. Norman Munroe Preserve
This protects 171 acres of diverse and highly ranked habitat along the Pine River, in Ossipee. This includes the property’s extensive wetlands and upland forests that are home to a wide variety of wildlife.
The Munroe Preserve includes almost two miles of river frontage, 28 acres of wetlands, and abuts the 3,244-acre Pine River State Forest, thus adding to a magnificent wildlife corridor. According to Dr. Rick Van de Poll, the diversity of ecosystems on the preserve provide exceptional habitat for a large variety of plants and wildlife.
The land's Conservation Easement Holder is the Lakes Region Conservation Trust.
MMRG is grateful to be a part of permanently preserving the Munroe Preserve’s spectacular habitat and making it available for public benefit and enjoyment.
