Land Conservation & Education for all ages
Moose Mountains Regional Greenways (MMRG) serves nine member communities in New Hampshire: Brookfield, Farmington, Middleton, Milton, New Durham, Ossipee, Tuftonboro, Wakefield, and Wolfeboro by conserving land, providing technical support to towns, freely distributing information through workshops and reports, and offering educational opportunities to all ages to learn about the natural world.

In the Beginning
Moose Mountains Regional Greenways was founded in 2000 by conservation commissioners and planning board members from towns in our service area.

Building a Foundation
In 2013, we began holding conservation easements. A conservation easement is a voluntary legal agreement between a landowner and a land trust that restricts certain uses of the property to protect its natural, productive or cultural features.

Plans for the Future
We are guided in our land conservation work by our 2017 Conservation Action Plan: “Our Home, Our Land, Our Tomorrow.”
Our Mission
Moose Mountains Regional Greenways works to:
Identify and permanently conserve networks of important natural resource areas, including wildlife habitat, forest and farm lands, water resources, and recreational, cultural and scenic areas in New Hampshire from south of the Moose Mountains to the Ossipee Mountains.
Strategically connect protected lands in greenways to facilitate wildlife movement and provide trails and open space for recreational use.
Lead in conservation land stewardship and management using best practices to foster a healthy and resilient environment.
Promote a community where working forests, recreation, tourism and farmland all contribute to our economic viability and well-being.
Build and celebrate connections between people and nature through educational programs and events for our communities, members, and families.
