The Board of Moose Mountains Regional Greenways has happily approved work on five new land conservation easement projects to take place in Milton, Ossipee and Tuftonboro in 2022 and 2023. This is an exciting roster of projects for the organization which will conserve valuable natural resource areas and make measurable progress on achieving our Greenways Vision.

Milton-Area Projects

MMRG will work to complete two conservation easement projects in Milton Mills on Applebee Rd and Jug Hill Rd, respectively, totalling over 100 acres. Both properties boast valuable open fields and excellent connectivity to significant parcels of conserved lands held by partner organizations. These projects are expected to be completed in 2023.

Ossipee and Tuftonboro-Area Projects

MMRG has approved work on three conservation easement projects within close proximity to one another, straddling the Ossipee and Tuftonboro town lines. The total combined size of these projects is approximately 275 acres, including prime soils, mature forests, important river frontage and wetland areas, as well as proximity to other conserved lands. Two of the projects are on lands held by private landowners and the third will be an exciting expansion of the Great Meadow in partnership with the Town of Tuftonboro. These projects are expected to be completed in late 2022 and 2023.
