Red Brook Swamp Corridor

Description

In 2012, The Dan Hole Pond Watershed Trust acquired Red Brook Swamp Corridor, 180 acres of forestland between Granite Road and White Pond in Ossipee. The property has special ecological value because the Pine River runs through it and into Pine River State Forest. It includes extensive wetlands as well as upland forest and is home to a wide variety of wildlife. The property will be permanently conserved. It will be open to the public and managed for sustainable timber harvesting. In 2021, Moose Mountains Regional Greenways merged with The Dan Hole Pond Watershed Trust and will take on the conservation of this property.
